Born:                23 April 1961, Nottingham, UK


Education:       1972-79, Chilwell Comprehensive School, Nottingham
                          1979-82, St John's College, University of Durham (B.A., First Class Honours in Theology)
                          1983-89, PhD, University of Aberdeen (Thesis: 'Two Models of Salvation in Relation to Christological 
                          Understanding in the Patristic East') 

Career:            1986-87, Teaching Fellow in Systematic Theology, University of Aberdeen
                         1987-95, Lecturer in Systematic Theology, University of Aberdeen
                         1988, Ordination as Priest in the Scottish Episcopal Church
                         1988-95, Associate Minister, St Devenick's Church, Bieldside
                         1995-2013, Professor of Divinity, University of St Andrews

                         2000-2013, Director of the Institute for Theology, Imagination and the Arts, University of St Andrews
                         2001-2006, Principal of St Mary's College, University of St Andrews
                         2013 - to date, Rector, Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, St Andrews and Honorary Professor of   
                         Divinity in the University of St Andrews
                         2021 - Honorary Canon Theologian of St Ninian's Cathedral, Perth 



Personalia:    Trevor is married to Rachel. They have three adult children and two border terriers called Grizzle and Gus. In his spare time Trevor enjoys playing guitars of various (increasingly expensive) sorts, listening to music of (almost) all sorts, wood carving, cycling, spending time in the outdoors, visiting galleries, concert halls and theatres, and watching Scotland play rugby.
